Today's POTD is of our new Blue Ray player. Last weekend we were checking them out at Costco and we were talking to a guy who had a "smart phone" and said that Sears had the same player on for $30 less. Well, I am always up for a bargain, so we decided to go to Sears, after we checked to see what Sam's had since we "knew" that Sears had the item for a "bargain". So we go to Sam's then to Sears to find out that they didn't have one at that store but at the store across town (that would be closing in about an hour), they had one even cheaper. Ron and I even said it was too good to be true, but we decided to go for it. So I get to the other Sears and have to wait for the clerk to find it because now I find out that it is the last one and not sure if they really have it and it's all under lock and key. So finally I buy it (sight unseen) and go to pick it up at the merchandise pick up and the poor guy is trying to scan it and I say, I don't want that one, it isn't wireless without the extra piece and that thing costs another $80 bucks here. He says I can return it back in electronics, SO I walk back and explain to the clerk why I don't want it, so he does a return and instead of putting the money back on my debit card, the system had to give me a cash refund. No big deal, until I find out they don't keep that much money in their drawers due to robberies. Now he has to hunt down the manager to get enough cash to give me a refund, who is now walking all over the store locking it down because it's closing time. So we went home that weekend empty handed with a bunch of cash in my pocket, and knew it wasn' meant to be. So this weekend we went back to Costco and found that good things do come to those that wait, because the unit now had an instant rebate with it, so we have a "smart" DVD player/TV and have learned not to listen to the guy with the ap on his smart phone!
