Today's POTD is of Zach's car for the Pinewood Derby.  Ron shaped it nicely for him the other day and then turned him loose with a Dremmel tool and Zach ended up with this.  I kinda like it, since I know he did it himself, and enjoyed it!  He was working on sanding it tonight so we can get it painted.  Should be fun!

Today we ran up to Joe and Susan's and put the first coat on Riley's pinewood derby car.  They have been doing this for years, so they are helping us out, plus they had black spray paint.  It is supposed to be an Army truck, so we'll see how it looks when it is done!

Today's POTD is of Raylan Givens!  He is the main character in my favorite TV show Justified.  The new season started tonight and Ron and I were able to sit down and watch it!  Love it!

Today's POTD is of Riley's first official writing.  He has had a few practice writing before this, but this was the first one.  He really didn't like to do it.  He thought it was hard, copying from the corrected rough draft to the final one.  But I kept working with him and we finally got it done.  I wish he had a love for reading and writing, but he really doesn't at this age!

Today's POTD is of Riley working on his pinewood derby car.  Since he is a Tiger Scout now, he can participate in the annual Pinewood Derby race.  Yesterday, Ron took the boys to Joe's and they all worked on their cars.  It is hard at this age to stay focused on the car, but he is doing a little here and there.

Today I got away and cropped!  It was nice to get away!  I was able to sit with my good friend, Tabitha.  It was great to catch up with her on life.  It was also a good day to talk with some great friends.  Sometimes just talking is all you need!  I actually got a couple of pages done too!

Today's POTD is of a donation I took in to the ACS office for Relay for Life.  My boss, Joe does a lot of work for Valero (gas stations) and they have a trade show each year for vendors to try to get them to sell their items.  After the show is over, Joe goes up to Denver to get the left over items and takes them to the local soup kitchen.  This year he asked if part of the stuff could go to Relay for Life.  Valero said yes, so I went down with Joe and we donated part to the Marian House Soup Kitchen and the rest went to Relay for Life!
